Local Code of conduct - disclosable pecuniary interests

In accordance with the local Code of Conduct, a councillor is required to disclose at the meeting any disclosable pecuniary interest (DPI) that they may have in respect of any matter for consideration on this agenda.  Any councillor with a DPI must notparticipate in any discussion or vote regarding that matter and they must also withdraw from the meeting immediately before consideration of the matter.

 

If that DPI has not been registered, the councillor must notify the Monitoring Officer of the details of the DPI within 28 days of the date of the meeting.

The Committee is asked to consider passing the following resolution:

 

"That under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act".

Appointment of a Director of Service Delivery

Minutes:

The Committee noted that the Council had commissioned Penna Plc to undertake the recruitment campaign for the Director of Service Delivery position, which would lead the newly formed services and commercial entities. Penna had sourced the best candidates for the role through head hunting and social media marketing.

 

Following the search campaign, seven applicants had been assessed as suitable for longlisting, although two of these had subsequently withdrawn from the process. 

 

The Committee had before them details of the technical interview assessments, CVs and personal statements in respect of each of the five remaining applicants and were invited to select a shortlist for final interview by the Committee on Friday 6 March 2020.

 

Having considered the assessments, the Committee

 

RESOLVED:  That the following candidates for the appointment of a Director of Service Delivery be short-listed for final interview on Friday 6 March 2020:

 

·        Ian Doyle, currently Director of Environment and Climate Change Action, at Essex County Council

·        Richard Homewood, currently Head of Environmental & Regulatory Services at Waverley Borough Council

·        Ian Kershaw, currently Client and Commissioning Manager – Waste, Community Safety and Enforcement at the London Borough of Haringey

·        Christine Traill, currently Strategic Director of Place at Rutland County Council.
