The Council to consider the election of the Mayor for the municipal year 2025-26.

At its meeting on 3 December 2024, the Council approved the nomination of Councillor Howard Smith as Mayor of the Borough for the municipal year 2025-26. Following their election, the Mayor will take the statutory declaration of acceptance of office.

The Council to record its appreciation for the services rendered by the retiring Mayor, Councillor Sallie Barker MBE.

The Council to consider the appointment of the Deputy Mayor for the municipal year 2025-26. 

At its meeting on 3 December 2024, the Council approved the nomination of Councillor Jane Tyson as Deputy Mayor of the Borough for the municipal year 2025-26.

Following their appointment, the Deputy Mayor will take the statutory declaration of acceptance of office.

To receive apologies for absence from Councillors, Honorary Freemen and Honorary Aldermen.

To receive from Members, declarations of interest in relation to any items included on the agenda for this meeting in accordance with the Councillor Code of Conduct.

To receive any communications or announcements from the Mayor.

To announce the appointment of the Mayor’s Chaplain for the municipal year 2025-26.

To appoint the Honorary Remembrancer for the Borough for the municipal year 2025-26.
