Appointment of Director of Development
The Committee considered the Managing Director’s report on the recruitment and selection arrangements undertaken in respect of the appointment of the Director of Development.
The Council had commissioned Jobsgopublic SmartSearch to undertake the recruitment campaign in respect of this appointment. SmartSearch had sourced the best candidates for the role through:
· head hunting
· search engine and social media marketing
· advertising on Jobsgopublic’s web based job sites
· advertising in the Municipal Journal.
Following the advertising, marketing and search campaign, twenty-six applications had been received. The SmartSearch team had assessed the applicants with the support of Richard Rawes, a senior independent development consultant who had been engaged by the Council as a technical expert to the panel. From the 26 applicants, seven had been assessed as being suitable and were invited to long-list interviews held on 3 December 2015.
Following a robust and rigorous interview, three candidates had been recommended for further consideration.
Following a presentation from each candidate and having interviewed them, the Committee
RESOLVED: That, as none of the three candidates fully met the person specification in respect of the Director of Development post, no appointment be made.
