To agree to requesting the court for another extension of 1 months in the timetable for a court hearing date to be set, to allow further time for the new lease between the Council and the tenant to be concluded.


Reasons for the decision:

The lease is a protected tenancy under Part II of the Landlord & Tenant Act 1954 and were an extension in timescale not agreed, the court would be contacting the parties to set a court hearing date which would be premature given the progress made in negotiations to date.

Alternative options considered:

.The decision meets the statutory requirements for the Council and there are no alternative options available apart from a court hearing date being set which would be premature and involve the council in increased costs which are not necessary at this stage
