Decision:

To enter into a contract with a company for their professional services in providing grave digging services to GBC Cemeteries.

Reasons for the decision:

The council requires professional services to perform its grave digging within cemeteries as part of its bereavement and memorial business continuity.

Alternative options considered:

GBC has investigated sharing resources but non have the specialist skills or capacity. Without this resource GBC would not be able to provide a local burial service for families which accounts for approx 50 per annum.
