The West Clandon Neighbourhood Plan was
submitted to the Council and subjected to an independent
examination in line with the Neighbourhood Planning (General)
Regulations 2012 (as amended). The examiner submitted an
examination report to the Council, which recommended that the plan
should be subject to specific modifications and should then proceed
to a referendum. The Council is now required by those regulations
to decide what action to take in response to each of the
examiner’s recommendations.
Officers agree with the examiner’s recommendations and
therefore ask for approval to accept the recommendations and make
the specified modifications to the plan. West Clandon parish
council have been consulted and agree with this decision.
The Lead Councillor and two of the Ward Councillors agree with the
decision.
To comply with the Neighbourhood Planning
(General) Regulations 2012 (as amended).
The alternative options were to reject the
plan, or to modify it in ways different from the Examiner’s
recommendations. These options were rejected because the Council
agrees with the examiner’s reasoning and his
recommendations.
