Smoke detector programme awarded to Signix Limited.

Reasons for the decision:

There is insufficient information available regarding smoke detectors for approximately 400 properties, that are not connected to the mains gas supply.
(The reason that non gas connection is important is that the annual gas check also verifies the smoke detection system. Those properties, that do not have gas, depend on a 5 year electrical check. 5 years is considered too long an elapsed period to check all these properties).
This programme will complete that information over a three-month period and bring all properties up .to LD2 British Standard 5839 Part 6.
Procurement process – Three invited to quote through mini competition included pricing model with indicative costs. Total contract value £93,000.
