The building projects are being proposed to
address two gaps in service at The Hive.
The Thrive project focuses on reducing landfill of homeware and
clothes. Thrive at the Hive is a space to access essential items
and is completed on a 'pay as you feel' basis to reach all members
of the community, irrelevant of their financial
circumstances.
The Sanctuary provides a quiet area for vulnerable service users
that may find other areas overwhelming. This will be a sensory safe
place for those with diagnosed and undiagnosed cognitive difficulty
such as Dementia, Alzheimer's and Autism.
Due to building works currently been completed
at The Hive, these spaces have been designed to make all services
accessible to residents living in the Guildford Borough.
SCBS have been identified as the contractor that offers best value
to the Council as well as understanding the nature of our services,
to not disrupt services already in place whilst building works are
underway.
Three quotes were obtained to identify best
value to the Council.
