Procurement of an email spam and threat
protection service, to continue to protect the Council from
email-based cyber-attacks.
The Council's existing email spam and threat
protection service licensing expires in September 2024. Continued
protection has been recommended by the ICT department to mitigate
the risk of email based cyber-attacks on the Council.
The Council is working in collaboration with
Waverley Borough Council currently. A shared solution is assumed to
provide efficiencies in the future, so the current Waverley
solution was considered. This solution had a higher price, and
therefore the decision was taken to retain the existing Guildford
solution to avoid investing in further deviation of this
technology.
The Council looked to two suppliers for quotations. The incumbent's
pricing was the best price, and therefore was chosen for this
procurement.
