Procurement of Astun iShare in the Cloud
(iSiC) Enterprise (a geographic information system) licences to
enable the Council to continue to use mapping services.
The Council's existing geographic information
system licence agreement expires on 31st March 2024. The Council
continues to use mapping for both internal and public-facing
services.
A licensing arrangement to enable continued use is therefore
considered necessary at this time.
Migration to an alternative platform would
take a further significant investment. Use of the G-Cloud framework
enables the Council to secure licensing at the same cost as the
previous arrangement which was identified as value-for-money for
the services provided. Alternative solutions have therefore been
rejected at this time as the implementation cost and impact means
the existing solution is better value-for-money at this
time.
