Continuation of membership of the South East
Government Warning, Advisory and Reporting Point
(SEGWARP).
Reasons for the decision:
The SEGWARP is our regional WARP, and provides
security advice from the National Cyber Security Centre amongst
others, a shared cyber discussion space, and early warning system
to support the Council's cyber defences.
Continued membership provides significant insight on cyber matters
for the ICT team.
Alternative options considered:
As this is our regional WARP that works
closely with central government services, the alternative option
considered was to terminate membership. At the low cost of
membership, the value for money was considered significant to the
Council of continuing membership of this formal cyber
forum.
